Starting tomorrow morning, Monday, March 23, and running through April 2, Droits et Recours en Santé Mentale GÎM is joining the strike by 1,622 Quebec community organizations who are saying: Enough is enough!
Our demands are clear: decent working conditions for our employees, stable project-based funding, full recognition of our organizations, protection of our autonomy, an end to precarious funding, and, finally, for the government to invest in the community-based model as a strategic pillar.
Over the next two weeks, services at Droits et Recours will be significantly reduced. We will continue to take messages and respond to emergencies, but our regular operations will be temporarily suspended to allow our staff to participate in advocacy activities.
We also invite our members, the people we support, and the general public to learn more about the "Le communautaire à boutte" movement, follow us on Facebook, and join us in the protests taking place across Quebec over the next two weeks.
We do this for everyone we help and for our employees, who help them regain control of their lives.
Because the fight for our community is the fight for our social safety net.
Let’s stick together!
From March 23 to April 2, we're at the end of our rope... BUT STILL STANDING!
